Citilink highlight 2001-2023
2001: Citilink was established as Garuda Indonesia's Strategic Business Unit (SBU), operating for the first time on July 16, 2001 on the Jakarta-Surabaya route with a Fokker F28 fleet.
2012: Citilink received an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and was established on June 22, 2012 as a low-cost airline (LCC) under the auspices of the Garuda Indonesia Group.
Citilink operates with a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft as well as new logos, livery, callsigns and uniforms.
2014: Citilink commenced operations at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and became the first commercial airline to operate at the airport.
2015: Citilink becomes the first low-cost airline in Indonesia to obtain ISO 9001: 2015 certification regarding SOP Delay Management
2016: Citilink meets European Union aviation safety standards
2017: Citilink brings Airbus A320NEO aircraft to the Citilink fleet.
Citilink made the first international flight to Dili, Timor Leste.
Citilink won the title of the best air transportation service company in managing aviation safety aspects in the 2017 Transportation Safety Management Award held by the Ministry of Transportation.
2018: Citilink received a 4-star Low Cost Airline award from Skytrax, a 4-star Low Cost Airline from APEX, and the Best Low Cost Airlines-Asia award from Trip Advisor.
Citilink opens international routes to Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia.
Citilink introduced a new cabin crew uniform with Gurdo Aji motif.
2019: Citilink opens international routes to Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Perth, Australia.
Citilink has again won the title of Four Star Low-Cost Airline from APEX.
Citilink Indonesia complements its fleet with ATR 72-600 propeller planes and wide-body Airbus A330-900NEO aircraft.
2020: Citilink opens international routes to Melbourne (Avalon), Australia and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Citilink operates freighter aircraft.
Citilink won the Best Low-Cost Airline award in Asia for the third time at the 2020 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award
2021:
- Citilink is the second low-cost airline in the world to receive a 5-star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating from Skytrax and is one of 15 airlines in the world to achieve this prestigious title.
- Citilink is included in the ranks of the 100 best airlines in the world, the 8 best low-cost airlines in Asia, the best low-cost airline in Indonesia, and received the COVID-19 Airline Excellence Awards at the 2021 World Airline Awards by Skytrax.
- Coinciding with National Customer Day, Citilink introduced new cabin crew uniforms that convey the Company's spirit as an innovative, modern airline.
- Citilink reopens and operates various domestic and international routes.
- Citilink plants 1,000 mangrove tree seedlings on Makassar's Untia Coast.
- Citilink won three awards at the 2022 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
- Citilink opens international routes to Papua New Guinea.
- Citilink moves operations from Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati Airport.
